Meet our Doctors
Jerry B. Elliot, M.D.
Dr. Elliot is a highly-esteemed, Board Certified physician with over 30 years of experience in the field of Obstetrics/Gynecology. After receiving his medical degree at the Ohio State University College of Medicine, Dr. Elliot went on to perform his Residency at the Mount Carmel Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He specializes in performing complex vaginal surgeries (i.e. Laparoscopically Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy, Laparoscopic Supracervical Hysterectomy, Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy); treating pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence; and in dealing with gynecological issues such as menopause and contraception. Dr. Elliot lives in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan with his wife and four sons.
Robin L. O’Dell, D.O.
Dr. O’Dell is an osteopathic physician, board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She originally grew up in the Thumb where her family owned a local newspaper. An Alma College alumnus, she first came to Mid Michigan as a college student. After teaching abroad in Japan for a year, Dr. O’Dell received her D.O. degree from the University of New England in Maine. She returned to Michigan for post-graduate training at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland and came to Mt. Pleasant to join Women’s Medical Center following residency. Having been practicing medicine for fifteen years and raising her three children here, Dr. O’Dell now considers Mid Michigan her home. When she isn’t delivering babies or in the operating room, Dr. O’Dell enjoys writing poetry and kayaking with her son and two daughters. Her professional interests include psychological aspects of women’s health and transgender medicine.
Steven O. Podolsky, M.D.
Dr. Podolsky has been a practicing Obstetrician/Gynecologist in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan for more than twenty-five years. After completing both his undergraduate and Medical Degrees at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, Dr. Podolsky went on to perform his Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency at the University of Iowa. He has been board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1996 and is a Fellow of the prestigious American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Podolsky finds true joy in working with patients, and is committed to devoting the necessary time and attention to effectively resolve their health concerns. He enjoys building lasting relationships with his patients and has delivered over 2000 babies while practicing in Mt. Pleasant. Outside of work, Dr. Podolsky enjoys working on his mini farm with his wife.
Michelle K. Sanders, D.O.
Dr. Sanders is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) specializing in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology. After attending Medical School at Pikeville College’s School of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Sanders completed her Residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Michigan State University’s St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital, located in Pontiac, Michigan and achieved Board Certification in 2014. Dr. Sanders is extremely committed to protecting the health and well-being of her patients, and has been asked to present her research findings at a number of prominent medical conferences. She believes in the importance of giving back to the community and has devoted her time to numerous charity fundraising endeavors, including the Susan G. Komen 3 Day Walk for the Cure and the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
Michael A. Swirtz, M.D.
Dr. Swirtz is a well-respected Obstetrician/Gynecologist practicing in Mount Pleasant for over 20 years. After attending medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Dr. Swirtz completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wayne State University/Hutzel Hospital, also in Detroit, Michigan. He has maintained continuous board certification through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and been a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1999. He serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor for the Central Michigan University College of Medicine. Dr. Swirtz is also on the Board of Directors of McLaren Central Michigan Hospital and the Great Lakes Physicians Organization.
Jack Parks, M.D.
Dr. Parks comes to us from Big Rapids, where he spent 13 years delivering babies and providing comprehensive gynecologic services to the community. Dr. Parks grew up in West Michigan and graduated from Hope College. He earned his M.D. from St. Matthews Medical School. In addition, he has a master’s degree in health administrative services. He completed his OB/GYN postgraduate training in Grand Rapids at Spectrum Health. After residency, he continued to work for Spectrum Health in Big Rapids. Dr. Parks manages all types of obstetrical and gynecologic issues. He specializes in advanced minimally invasive gynecological surgery, but also loves obstetrics. Dr. Parks enjoys listening to his patients in the office and helps them navigate through medical issues cooperatively. It is important to him that patients feel empowered and educated regarding their health care decisions. Outside of work, Dr. Parks enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He participates in sports, including hunting and fishing, with his fiancée and two children.
